Join the coalition to end direct provision (Organisations)
We believe that speaking with one voice is essential. Help us to finally end direct provision and to create an alternative that protects people’s rights.
We know there is huge support across Ireland for ending direct provision and protecting the rights of people seeking international protection so we’re asking civil society organisations and groups to join us.
By joining the coalition, your organisation is taking a stand for human rights and equality. Member organisations may be invited to lend their support to the campaign by, for example:
1.
Signing up to joint letters from the Coalition to the State/Government to further our objectives.
2.
Helping to spread the word among your organisation’s supporters and stakeholders.
3.
Participating in advocacy campaigns to raise awareness about the issue.
4.
Contributing resources to the coalition’s ongoing work including financial support and/or sharing staff time, expert knowledge, virtual or in-person meeting spaces, digital tools, or other resources as relevant.
5.
Sharing any relevant internal resources including stories from direct provision residents and contacts within the direct provision network to amplify the coalition’s share of voice.
Take action against direct provision (Individuals)
While the goal of STAD is to amplify the collective voice of organisations across Ireland in ensuring the State upholds its commitment to end direct provision, we invite individual members of the public to get involved in the campaign.
Whether you are a social justice champion, a current or former resident of direct provision, or an everyday citizen demanding better conditions for asylum seekers, you can lend your support in the following ways:
Tweet a message of your support and make your voice heard;
- Share the campaign on social media;
Do you have experience of living in direct provision? Share your story with us to help raise awareness about the issue.
